Bourbon Street are very happy to announce we are at the BANGALOW HOMEGROWN MUSIC FESTIVAL, SATURDAY 29 NOVEMBER !
Kicking off midday on Saturday, November 29 at the Bangalow Bowling Club, the festival will be a showcase for local Bangalow bands.
The festival is the brainchild of Bruce Butler, lead singer with Goodrich, who is being supported by local music industry heavyweights Sam Cutler and Bianca Lindstrom.
Sam Cutler was tour manager for The Rolling Stones during the late 1960s, and Bianca Lindstrom, from Dragging Canoe Records, worked for Sony Records for many years.
Mr Cutler also mentors many of the local bands and will be Master of Ceremonies on the day.
“This is designed to be a boutique festival to celebrate and foster home-grown artists from the area,” said Ms Lindstrom.
“We have many festivals here in the Northern Rivers but often local grass roots bands don’t get a look in because they don’t have the profile on the radio or TV.
“Some of these amazing bands like Goodrich and Bourbon Street have been around for a while and others like Pilots and Parkside Orchestra are quite young and new.
“Parkside Orchestra recently won the National University band competition and Pilots have just returned after touring with Wolfmother.”
The festival will feature two stages: The Coopers Acoustic stage will be set up out the front of the club on the futsal field and will feature market and food stalls.
The main stage will be the bowlo auditorium and will play host to the electric bands.
Earlybird tickets are $25 or $35 on the day. Buses will also be running from Lennox, Byron and Mullumbimby.
